[BC COVERS] Q&A with Mari Sainio

 The next Blind Channel cover we had the pleasure to discover was Dark Side by Mari Sainio.

She also agreed to answer my questions. 

Q. BLIND CHANNEL NEWS: Why did you choose to cover Dark Side? Beside Dark Side, are/were other Blind Channel songs you'd like to cover?

A. MARI SAINIO: I listened through Blind Channel's albums and I was first thinking that I'd like to take some of the heavier tracks but when I listened to Dark Side I immediately got some ideas for my version. My style is very different compared to Blind Channel's and Dark Side has very strong melodies so I think people will recognize it immediately when they hear the cover. It's also a really good song!

Who is Mari Sainio?

Mari Sainio is a Finnish composer who works in different type of classical music and movie projects around the world. She combines classical music elements with cinematic melodies and electronic soundscapes with what could be termed a ‘post-rock pathos’. (from Mari's website)
